To stay at the pinnacle of teaching and research, attracting young talent from across the globe is crucial. In the past this has been done by providing new faculty with grants/fellowships to boost their research and reward them for their achievementsIIT Kanpur has total faculty of 520 for 7,600 students, a ratio of 1:16. It is aiming to reach 600 faculty members next year i.e. 50 New Faculty Recruitment, to reach the ideal ratio of 1:10.To improve the student faculty ratio, the Institute has been making great efforts to recruit more faculties and has put in place several initiatives for it. The fund was of immense support to the Departments in running out processes in demand to promote faculty recruitments and arranging job talks for the aspiring faculty members across the globe.
