As alumnae of IIT Kanpur, we cherish the values, friendships, and opportunities that continue to shape our journeys. Today, we have the chance to pass that gift forward to the next generation of women scholars.

With a deep sense of giving back to our alma mater, the alumnae of IIT Kanpur launch the continuing ‘Alumni Scholarship for Girl Students,’ commencing in the Academic Session 2025–26.

While government norms provide fee benefits to students from families with an income of up to ₹5 lakhs, many deserving students from families earning ₹5–10 lakhs per annum remain excluded, even if their income barely exceeds the limit, such as ₹5.05 lakhs per annum. These students often face significant financial strain from tuition, housing, and living expenses, making it challenging to focus fully on academics and holistic development. The narrow eligibility gap leaves talented students without crucial support, despite only marginal differences in family income.

The Alumni Scholarship for Girl Students aims to bridge this gap by:

• Providing scholarships to meritorious girl students in B.Tech. and 2-year Master’s courses.
• Supporting those who fall outside government support norms but still face genuine financial challenges.
• Enabling young women to pursue academics without the burden of financial stress.
• Promoting holistic growth and development alongside academic excellence.
